SKF INTRODUCES "TWO WEEK QUICK-SHIP PROGRAM"
FOR ROLLER SCREWS AND THRUST BEARINGS IN THE UNITED STATES
ARMADA, Mich., May 27, 2004 TCM,
a unit of SKF USA Inc., has now made their roller screws
and thrust bearing units available for one or two week delivery
in the United States.
Planetary Roller Screws (BRC) or Recirculating
Roller Screws (BVC) can be combined with Flanged Thrust Bearing
Units (FLRBU) in one week without end machining and in two weeks
for customized end machining to a customers drawing
Compared to ball screws, roller screws allow
much higher loads per screw diameter. In the Planetary design
roller screws have faster speeds than ball screws since they
are not limited by the speed of recirculating balls. The fine
leads of the Recirculating roller screw design allow very high
resolution and positioning accuracy without the load capacity
penalty that exists on ball screws.
The Planetary Roller Screws (BRC) come in
15-39 mm diameter sizes with 5mm lead, and Recirculating Roller
Screws (BVC) come in 20-32 mm diameter sizes with 1mm lead.
The maximum speeds are up to 140,000/diameter for Planetary
Roller Screws (BRC) and 20,000/diameter for Recirculating Roller
Screws (BVC). The systems have high load capacitysimilar
to that of a one-piece cylindrical nut and no play. Roller
screw nuts are preloaded with oversize rollers (no loss of load
capacity as with "split" nuts). Smaller leads and
higher capacities will enable downsizing of machines while improving
reliability and productivity. All screws are manufactured to
ISO standard precision.
